Class Descriptions
Pilates Foundation
Ideal for regular Pilates clients who want to revisit their technique and refresh the principles, this class will teach you the 5 Basic Stott Pilates principles:
- Breathing
- Pelvic Placement
- Ribcage Placement
- Scapular Movement and Stabilisation
- Head and Cervical Placement
You must understand these principles and all relevant terminology to get the most out of my classes. This class is required for all new attendees at Exclusive Pilates, regardless of whether you have attended Pilates elsewhere.
We recommend you attend a minimum of two of the classes before moving into a beginner’s class, but one may be sufficient if you have previous experience in the Slott or Polestar method, or similar. This class is not required for Aerial Yoga, Aerial Antenatal, or Prenatal Apparatus.

Pilates on the Reformer
Using a reformer, this class follows an order of Pilates exercises, some of which have crossovers with Joseph Pilates’ original matwork exercises. This will show you how the reformer can strengthen a participant in a particular area to create ease with the matwork repertoire. The reformer itself also has its own exercises.
With the current trend of “Reformer Pilates” studios popping up everywhere, it’s important to stress that these are Pilates exercises on a reformer, rather than fitness exercises using a reformer. Both have their place in the health and fitness scene, but there are significant differences between the two.

Reformer with the Cardio Tramp
Mixing HIIT cardiovascular elements with resistance and stretching, this is a Reformer class interspersed with jumping on a small trampoline in a lying-down position. It is similar to an interval training class, but with less impact on the joints due to shock absorption and position.
Perfect for taking after Foundation and beginner classes, this class is fab for burning fat as well as gaining all the usual benefits of Reformer exercises. It is not suitable for beginners, as you will need to establish a degree of core strength and control before taking this class, and technique is vital.

Pre-Natal on the Apparatus
Subject to an initial pre-screening to rule out any contra-indications, this class is suitable for all trimesters. The class incorporates trimester-appropriate Matwork and smaller equipment such as the Swiss Ball, alongside any of the following apparatus:
- Reformer
- Spring Wall
- Stability Chair
- Barre
- Pilates Edge
